Michelle J Buckle, M.A., C.Psych, Psychologist

Pronouns: she/ her/ hers

I am a registered psychologist, dramatherapist, certified Canadian counsellor, and educator in Ontario and Alberta, with over 27 years of experience providing mental health services for youth, adults, and families. In addition to teaching and training diverse populations, I have provided assessment and intervention services for institutions, school boards, community mental health agencies, and in private practice.

Working with individuals, groups, families, and couples, I find that people are spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, and physical beings, each on a journey to find balance in all areas. I provide treatment for a wide range of issues, including self-esteem, bullying, trauma and abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, family conflict, co-parenting, and grief and loss.

I primarily uses embodied methods rooted in psychotherapeutic practices such as Somatic Psychology, Jungian Psychology, Systemic Family Constellations, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Neurobiological Psychology, Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Dramatherapy. I also use embodied and somatic ways of knowing to encourage clients of all ages to identify their values, goals, and skills, meanwhile tapping into their creative gifts for healing. I further share my passion for hearing people's stories by using theatre to inspire conflict transformation, community building, environmental awareness, and creative solutions to social justice issues.

I enjoy dancing in the rain, going to the theatre, reading a good suspense novel, and travelling in her spare time. But most of all, I loves helping people on their journey to transform their lives and heal their minds, bodies, hearts, and souls. I am a wife, a mother (step), a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. I was born in England, raised in Canada, and I am of Jamaican heritage.
