Sasha Pivarnyik, MSW, RSW

I offer counselling to those dealing with anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship difficulties and grief. With therapeutic interventions I support clients so that they can understand their thoughts and feelings in new and more helpful ways, a process that can lead to healing. Sometimes therapy can be anxiety-provoking; during sessions, I strive to create a comfortable and calm experience for you.

Though I primarily work from a cognitive stance, I also incorporate elements of other modalities such as narrative therapy. I approach all clients from a trauma-informed and strength-based point of view.

I have a master’s degree in social work and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have over 15 years of experience working in the field of social work and counselling, across a variety of settings. Additional and specialized training includes working with people who have suffered childhood neglect and abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. I engage in ongoing professional development and follow the most recent research in the field.
