Reflexology

Reflexology is a focused pressure technique, usually directed at the feet or hands. It is based on the premise that there are zones and reflexes on different parts of the body, which correspond to and are relative to all parts, glands, and organs of the entire body. Reflexology demonstrates four main benefits: Aids in relaxation with the relief of stress, enhances circulation, assists the body to normalize the metabolism naturally, and complements all other healing modalities.

Reflexology helps to clear deposits which are felt by the reflexologist as sandy gritty areas of the feet. Kneading out these blockages helps the nervous system to gently reconfigure. After experiencing a session clients consistently feel a deep sense of restored balance and relaxation.

This unique reflexology treatment starts with a warm footlogix soothing foot soak to help aid to cleanse and soften tired, aching feet. You will be asked to lie comfortably on the table and be guided in taking a few deep meditative breathes as you descend into Bianca’s reflexology relaxation ritual. After approximately 45 minutes of reflexology massage gentle warm / hot towels are then used to remove any leftover oil residue while you are gently guided back from your experience.

Craniosacral Therapy

Also commonly known as cranial osteopathy is fast becoming a treatment of choice in areas for pain, body rehabilitation and neurology. It is a gentle, hands on but non-invasive technique developed by an American osteopathic physician almost 100 years ago. CST theory and practise are based on understanding the continuous subtle movements of the cranial bones, which result in a rhythm of approximately six to twelve cycles per minute. This rhythm is understood as a response to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fluctuations within the spinal cord and brain environment. The subtle movement extends outward to the entire body, in response to the fluid pressure changes around the central nervous system.

A therapist gently works with the whole body including the spine and the skull, and its cranial structures, diaphragms, and fascia by using the hands as fine discriminating tools, craniosacral therapists are able to detect disturbances in the cranial sacral rhythm to help identify areas of dysfunction, such as cranial, sutural, membrane and soft tissue restrictions in the body.

Patients remain clothed during a treatment and treatments are generally an hour long.

A treatment works in the following ways:

  • Helps restore normal cranial mobility;

  • Releases abnormal myofascial restrictions and tensions in the body;

  • Releases abnormal restrictions in the head;

  • Eases restrictions of nerves;

  • Optimizes cerebrospinal fluid movement through the central nervous system; and

  • Helps restore misaligned bones to their proper positions (assisting troubles associated with the head, back, neck, hips, shoulders, arms, hands, knees and feet)

Craniosacral Therapy is beneficial for all ages from infant to the elderly:

  • Birth traumas and other perinatal challenges ;

  • Infant latching and feeding difficulties;

  • Recurrent ear infections;

  • Facial asymmetries and eye motor problems;

  • Learning disabilities, A.D.D, A.D.H.D;

  • Gross and fine motor problems;

  • Developmental delays, autism;

  • Headaches;

  • Concussion, and post concussion symptoms;

  • Tinnitus, hearing loss and vertigo;
